These House of Staunton carrying bags for wooden boards and tournament chessmen are the best! Until these came on the market a couple of years ago, I used to store and carry my boards in artist's portfolio bags. These, of course, were not intended for chessboards, and feature a waterproof lining. Portfolio cases are lined with a rubberized material, which can ruin the lacquer on chess boards, softening it, and leaving a "tooth" pattern. I found out the hard way, and had to re-finish a half dozen boards.
These House of Staunton cases feature a cloth lining inside, which won't mar your wooden board's fine finish. The House of Staunton cases are heavy duty and nicely padded and a delight to use and own.
The double nylon zippers are durable and easy to grasp. There is also a smaller version of these cases. Iside the outer compartment are elastic loops that suspend each of your chessmen in place without touching, rubbing or marring each other while in transit.
A pouch holds tournament scorebooks, pens, and a favorite chess book.
But one change I'd like to see would be to add a buckle to the carrying straps to adjust their length. I have found that these cases can be difficult to get on and off your shoulder in a heavy winter coat. I'd be glad to pay a little more to for this important feature!

This Carrying Case is great. I can put my board in the case very easy. I do wish the pockets that hold my pieces was bigger. The pocket on the back was a good size.
