Six times a year, ChessBase publishes a magazine on CD, supplemented with a small booklet. It contains annotated games, interviews, theoretical articles, historical articles and much more.
ChessBase Magazine #99 (May 2004) contains 1,264 games, of which 440 are well annotated. Tournaments covered include Wijk aan Zee, Bali, Bermuda and Hastings, among others. There are two multi-media reports, one on Wijk aan Zee and the second a video interview with Yasser Seirawan. Opening theory includes articles on the A34 English (two articles); b01 Scandinavian; B30 Sicilian; B33 Sicilian; B83 Sicilian; C88 Ruy Lopez (Anti-Marshall); E94 King's Indian; and E97 King's Indian with 9 b4. There are also articles by Peter Wells on strategy, Hecht on endings, Atlas on tacdtics as well as an additional 8,000-game database containing correspondence games, 33 of which are annotated. |
