This book really helped me understand tactics in a straightforward way. Just explaining what certain terms meant helped me to recognize how often these tactical ideas occur in games. After studying this book I felt like I was arriving at the more critical aspects of a position much faster and thus was able to spend my time more wisely during a game. A great book to familiarize yourself with basic and intermediate/tournament level tactics.

Not very time consuming, straightforward and just difficult enough to make you think (as opposed to give up).
Only a few chess players work at chess to the best of their abilities.
