One of the heaviest sets of its size on the market, the Olympian Series Chessmen are designed to withstand the rigors of practical play while maintaining an elegance admired by all chessplayers.
This full-tournament sized set features a 3-7/8" King with a 1-5/8" diameter base, weighs an impressive 52 ounces and includes 4 Queens.
The design and feel of these Olympian Series Chessmen make them ideal for both Tournament and Rapid Play (Blitz) Chess.
Each set consists of 34 Chessmen, 17 light and 17 dark (including the two additional Queens) and plays best on a board with 2¼" squares (board not included).
The Olympian Ebonized Chessmen are match with the Berkshire Teak & Maple Chessboard for this great combo. Combining outstanding workmanship of world-renowned Spanish chessboard craftsmen with the precision of modern technology, the Berkshire Teak & Maple Chessboard allows chessplayers to experience the elegance of a wooden board at a very reasonable price. These are first-class wooden veneer boards, partly hand-made, but also using the most advanced technological machinery available to artisans working in wood. A special long-lasting matte finish is applied to reduce reflection.
The Berkshire Teak & Maple Chessboard has standard regulation tournament 2¼" squares, framed by a contrasting grain 2-1/8" border, set off on the diagonal for added effect. Overall it is approximately 22-3/8" x 22-3/8" with a thickness of approximately ½". The board is a splendid match with our Olympian Ebonized Chessmen.
