Comments : I am an original USCF LIFE-Master. I have been playing tournament chess since the 1960's. I recently purchased this program ... these are my thoughts.

Is it strong? Hmmm, that is probably the understatement of the year! In the very first game it destroyed me completely with the Black pieces in less than 30 moves. (I could have resigned well before move 25.) The next game, I turned off the opening book, and I won ... but it took nearly 90 moves!!! (By the way, turning off the 'opening book' is actually a dirty trick, and greatly hamstrings the program - I only did it to see if I could beat the darn thing.) If you still doubt its strength, see the following article. (http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=2228)

This is easily one of the strongest chess-playing programs in the world. (It would probably flatten the average GM.) You also get ease of use, virtually unlimited control of the interface, a database with over half-a-million games, an openings book, choices of many different 2-D and 3-D sets to use ... I could go on for hours.

Use it as a learning tool. Use it as your coach. Set it on "infinite analysis" and see into its mind. (I use this mode to analyze all my tournament games.) In fact, you can use this program for practically ANY chess-related task!

The only thing I object to is the price ... nearly 60 bucks is a lot of money. (It does not seem that long ago when Fritz cost around 20 bucks.) However, this is the ONLY objection you could have to this program!!! Buy it ... I can practically guarantee that you will like it.

Comments : It is pretty nasty, but obviously it helps a lot by way human errors commit and the more you are beaten down to your dignity the more you would say to yourself,I had enough of being grind down to being useless...useless as ever. That is why we should strive to become perfect and someday we can be its equal.
